As a 33 year-old mother of two, a wife and working full-time, I found it difficult to remain faithful to a strict training regime and an even stricter diet. I would start training and slack off or go on binge diets. Somehow, conflicts always kept me from staying on a training schedule. Finally, I decided bodybuilding and bodybuilding competitions weren't just dreams I had for myself, they were goals. I wanted this for my life, but I didn't have the right formula to balance a strict training and diet schedule with my busy day-to-day life.
Bodybuilding was something I always found fascinating and I always knew I wanted it to be part of my life. I've always worked out but never had enough 'edge' to get into competing. The desire was in me, I just didn't have the right combination to drive me where I always knew I could go. When I met John Henry, I instantly knew I had struck gold. He helped me set short-term goals so my long-term goals didn't seem so unreachable. Instead of bodybuilding, we decided I should train to compete in a figure competition. John Henry helped me find the right balance to continue my

daily life and include competition training in it as well.
With his help, we found the right formula of diet and exercise that would push my body to the limits I wanted. Many days, it was a struggle with the stress of daily life and a very strict diet. However, I now have the motivation to stick it out and the desire to reach my competition goals. Before, I would always begin training with seriousness and slack off or revert to nasty eating habits. Now I follow a strict diet and eat more than I ever have! And the amazing thing is that I still weigh the same (125 lbs.) as when I started training with John Henry, but I went from a size 6 and 26% body fat to a size 4 and 13% body fat. That is right! Women are scared of muscle, but as I have learned from John Henry, it takes up less space in the body than fat. That is why I am no longer concerned about my weight but about my percent body fat.
John Henry and I worked together to keep me on the path to success, to the competition goal I had dreamt about since I was a teenager. After competing in my first Figure competition, I know I will continue training and competing in both figure and bodybuilding competitions. And I am now the proud mother of three!
