RMOF: Joe Craig
October 2007
My name is Joe Craig, age 33, and I am a personal trainer at MBF. I've been working for John Henry for over four years now. Before I came to MBF, I felt that I was in pretty good shape, ate well and exercised correctly. I had just finished my certification for personal training and thought I was finished with school. Little did I know it was just beginning...
My first day working for John Henry was a little overwhelming. He had me change into workout clothes and wanted me to perform various exercises. Along the way, John Henry would stop me, correct my form and explain why he did this. It all made sense. Over the weeks and months that followed, the knowledge and experience I gained was priceless. My confidence grew as well.
Everyone who knows John Henry will tell you they get an earful about nutrition. Like I said before, I thought I was eating well but I was wrong. He made me realize I wasn't eating enough. I wasn't feeding my muscles the proper balance of nutrients. I also thought I was in pretty good shape. However, John Henry measured my body fat and I was 17.5% body fat and weighed 182 pounds. I was not in the "athletic male" range for body fat. This was pretty depressing to me because of what I previously thought. Over the next four months, I followed his guidance. I was lifting weights and eating the way he instructed me. My body began to transform. At the end of the four months, my body fat decreased and I maintained my muscle tone. Today, I am 7% body fat, fluctuate around 170 pounds and I am the strongest I have ever been.
The knowledge and experience that I have gained from John Henry makes me the personal trainer that I am today. I lead by example. I am more confident than ever in my abilities and I truly enjoy being part of T.E.A.M. MBF.
